The Fund Raising team is headed up by Michelle Watson, who will deal with the clubs numerous raffles throughout the year as well as organising some other fund raising activities.

The 100 Club runs from the end of August but participants are welcome to join at any time during the year. So please let us know if you would like to join as a new member.   As the name suggests, there are numbers 1-100 that you can choose, the cost is £12 for the year and winners are drawn every month and announced straight after our committee meetings. Details of the 100 club are posted on the notice board at Flitwick Leisure Centre.

Textile collection will take place in the autumn so please keep your unwanted textiles ready for around October time.

Raffle Prizes.  We are always on the lookout for good quality raffle prizes throughout the year so please do hand in anything you would like to donate at any time. It will be stored safely and used at our various events.

As ever, thank you to all the club members for your much valued support and donations to the clubs fund raising activities. Always interested in new ideas, so please feel free to email with any comments or ideas.

Flitwick Dolphins swimming club held a sponsored swim event at The Flitwick Leisure Centre on the 22nd March in aid of a number of charities. As well as the sponsored swim there was a number of stalls raising funds, a raffle as well as a "Name the Bunny" competition grid.

There were many names to choose from and the lucky winner of this super Bunny and Easter egg was Sadie, seen here with the bunny whose name is Peanut.

Many thanks to all the club members and also all those not in the club who supported the event on the day by purchasing raffle tickets, having a go at the "Name the Bunny" competition and also for sponsoring the club swimmers

Thanks must also go to the management and staff of the Flitwick Leisure Centre for their assistance and support for the club's event.

easter 2017
On Wednesday, 22 March at FLC the club will be undertaking a different training event which shall take place within each squads usual training times at FLC.

This means that all the land training for Wednesday, 22 March will be cancelled and all the training will be taking place within the swimming pool.  The coaches will be providing each of their groups with the schedule for the swims that will take place within the usual training slots for each squad and instead of land training they will be in the swimming pool during the usual land training times. So swimmers must still be at FLC at the time that they would normally do land training but will swim instead. Your coaches will explain further and this applies across all squads from 7 p.m. though to 10 p.m. (so includes those who do not land train on a Wednesday). Spectators are welcome to view from the seating area .

The swimming on this evening will double up as a sponsored swim in aid of the charities being supported by the Club swimmers who will be embarking upon the English Channel relay swimming this July. Even if you are not going to be sponsored for the swimming, you should still come to training as normal.  The English Channel relay swimming group are now handing out forms for sponsorship.  However swimmers are not obliged to have to obtain sponsorship for the swimming event that will take place within training if they don't want to.  Copies of the sponsorship form and information are attached.

The senior swimmers will be lap counting the younger swimmers who usually train between the hours of 7 PM and 9 PM, and a group of adults/parents will be lap counting the senior swimmers that swim between 9 and 10 PM.

The Masters squad are more than welcome to take part in the sponsored swim or if they would prefer to just undertake the normal training, a lane will be allocated to them for that purpose.

This should be a fun evening, with some serious training taking place by way of the sponsored swim with the challenge being that the club manages to clock up at least 21 miles of swimming within the pool which represents the 21 miles from Dover to Calais. I'm reliably informed that this is 33,797 metres which equates to 1352 Lengths.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries or liaise with your coach. Louise and Ronnie will be able to assist swimmers in Flippers, Fins, B and C Squads and are on hand this evening to explain the event further, if you have any questions. We look forward to this special training event on the 22.3.17.  I have listed below the team of senior swimmers that will be on hand between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. to lap count the swimmers who train between those hours, and those who have volunteered to lap count the senior swimmers.  If anyone can volunteer to lap count the senior swimmers, then the more the merrier. Please bring, if you can, a clip board and pen.  I have some spare clip boards that you can borrow.

Kind regards
