There were smiles all round at the Flitwick Dolphins’ End of Season Party, which marked the end of competitions for another year. The chosen theme, "Western”  saw great costumes from swimmers, parents and coaches - the best dressed certainly being head coach Nigel Halford! In keeping with this theme, the club captains organised a Rodeo Bull which became a huge source of amusement. 2016-2017 season Club Captain James McFarland achieved the best time of the evening, clinging on for over 40 seconds!

A BBQ was enjoyed by all, which was perfect for the warm summer evening on Saturday. In order to congratulate our most dedicated swimmers, those who have represented the club most frequently received awards, they are listed below. Well done to all of them. This once again saw lots of big smiles from the swimmers, special mention to Claudia Grant-Dawson receiving her award for representing the club 75 times and Carl Halford was announced as having represented the club over 100 times!

With the perfect weather, fitting decor and an all round great atmosphere, this year’s End of Season Party was a huge success. Everyone in the club is hugely appreciative of the effort that club captains Katie Tompkins, and James McFarland put in to organising the party!

Biggleswade Swim Club’s Open Meet proved to be another extremely successful event for Flitwick Dolphins, who emerged as the winning club!  Alongside all of the 185 PBs gained by Flitwick’s swimmers: medals, club records and winter regional times were also achieved.

Senior swimmer Tyler Watson proudly accepted his award for Top Scoring Boy at the weekend, while Tom Malia and Adam Holmes followed closely behind as runners up. Francesca Baber and Connie Brooker were runners up for Top Scoring Girl.

The Open Meet also saw swimmers achieve club records, which illustrates the invaluable effort that is put in both at training, and at open meets. These include Francesca Baber - 50m  Fly (11 Year Olds), and Autumn Handscombe - 100m Breaststroke (13 Year Olds).

Overall, 173 medals were won by Flitwick and 62 of these were Gold! Finally, the award for best visiting club was presented to Club Captain Katie Tompkins, which marked yet another success for Flitwick at Biggleswade’s Open Meet.
