The Flitwick Dolphins Swimming Club proudly announce the new Swimmer and Coach of the month award
Each month the FDSC Committee will consider nominations for these two categories of awards.
The Swimmer of the Month will be chosen by the coaching team and the Coach of the Month will be nominated by the Head Coach.

Swimmer of the month

This award will go to any swimmer, from any of the groups, that is consistent in training, made a significant improvement, been kind or considerate to other swimmers, shown exceptional sportsmanship at competitions, supported their fellow club members or have stood out in any way at all during the month.

Coach of the month

This award will go to any on the coaching team who have perhaps gone that extra distance to help swimmers, stood out from the crowd in some way, helped a swimmer achieve a goal or has simply made you laugh and smile and enjoy your training or competition.

The awards will be considered once a month commencing with the first awards being decided on the 4th of September and then again on the following dates:-  9.10.2016,    13.11.2016,      11.12.2016,     15.1.2017,     19.2.2017,     19.3.2017,    23.4.2017,    14.5.2017.
Awardees will be revealed shortly afterwards and will be announced on the club website, by swim club manager and on the clubs  social media.   The winners will have a presentation made to them, by The Club Captains, at training on the first Sunday of the month. 
You are cordially invited to a meet and greet session hosted by your new head coach, Sam Parr.  This will take place from 6 pm until 7 pm on Sunday the 24th of July in either studio 5 or the land training room at the Flitwick Leisure Centre . This is a drop in hour so feel free to attend anytime between 6 pm and 7 pm to chat to Sam .

I am really looking forward to meeting our members, swimmers and parents on the 24th of July to talk about my ideas on creating a great swimming culture, ways of communicating between coaches and parents and give the opportunity to all parents and swimmers to ask any questions. Flitwick Dolphins Head Coach
On Saturday 2nd of July Ian Murray of our club swam 4 miles in the sea at the British Long Distance Swimming Association Event in Torbay in a time of one hour, 51 minutes and 45 seconds gaining first place in his age category.

Congratulations to Ian on a superb swim.  We have a brilliant Masters Squad who continue to go from success to success.  
Good luck to our Regional Open Water Swimmers this coming week-end when they take part in their events  on Sunday .
Saturday 16th April saw the final round of the Chilterns Swimming League Competition. Over the three rounds Flitwick Dolphins swimmers have shown what being dedicated and supportive can do.  Finishing 3rd in the league is the best result for many years and a huge achievement for the club and the swimmers. Not to mention the 42 personal best times set over the three rounds.

Assistant Head Coach, Ronnie Curr, has said how proud she is of each swimmer for achieving such fabulous results, with a special mention to one of the Senior Squad swimmers, Luke Ford, who gained a 4 second personal best in 100m Breaststroke. Also a special mention goes to the coaches’ star relay teams: Boys 14+U Medley, Mens Open Medley: Boys 14+U Freestyle: Girls 14+U Freestyle.

Thank you to the swimmers:  10+Unders: Ruby Blackmore, Jake Hickmott, Connor Sweeney, Lily Moore, Ryhanna Cummins, Francesca Baber, Ruby Ryall, Felix Moon, Adam Thompson and Gabriel Young.

The 12+Unders: Holly Cahill, Finn Hague, Lillia Thompson, Tom Malia, Isaac Moon, Imogen Thompson,Tyler Watson and George Maskell.

14+Unders: Emma Boost, Emily Cullen, Olivia Fowler, Billy Cutler, Kai Borromeo and Samuel Dennis.

Open: Thomas Allen, Claudia Grant Dawson, Philip Cummins, Luke Ford and Chloe Ford.
